Coaching Contract- Students will create an example of what a coaching contract would be for their own coaching practice. This is meant to be theoretical and introduce students to the legalities of executive coaching and the main tenants of a coaching contract. You are free to reference Orenstein, 2007 appendices for example contracts, and you can also research more elaborate contracts. You will also find examples in Antonas, 2018 (at least the contents).
For this assignment, students must: (a) develop a sample coaching contract they would use with a client (an example of this can be used with the coaching subject, but would include one line about being a graduate student and this is for course credit), (b) submit the contract here by uploading the document.

P1 Fifth Estate- Review and prepare a discussion (reading below text) The Emergence of a New Pluralist Democratic Institution The historical conception of feudal societies being divided into ‘estates of the realm’ can be up-dated in a way that is useful for understanding developments in contemporary network societies. In pre-revolutionary France and England, for example, these estates were identified as the clergy, nobility and commons. In the Eighteenth Century, Edmund Burke (as reported by Thomas Carlyle) identified the press as a Fourth Estate, arguing: … there were Three Estates in Parliament; but, in the Reporters’ Gallery yonder, there sat a Fourth Estate more important far than they all. It is not a figure of speech, or witty saying; it is a literal fact – very momentous to us in these times. Since then, radio, television and other mass media have been enfolded with the press into the Fourth Estate, which has become an important independent democratic institution. The passing of feudal society has led many to redefine the estates. In the US, for instance, the estates have come to be most often linked to the separation of powers in legislative, executive and judicial branches of government. But the press remains identified as a Fourth Estate in many liberal democratic societies. In the 21st Century, a new institution is emerging with some characteristics similar to the Fourth Estate, but with sufficiently distinctive and important features to warrant its recognition as a new Fifth Estate.
a) Fifth estate enables citizens to reconfigure access to alternative sources of information, people and other resources.
b) it differs from traditional media, particularly in opening up to greater social accountability many other institutional arenas, from everyday life to science. c) The Fifth estate is also known as Citizen journalism and enhances the emergence of a participatory culture which contrasts with older notions of passive media spectatorship.
d) Ordinary citizens participate in the generation of truth and values and, thus, in the construction of a multiple reality.
e) It can be argued that the Fifth estate is a cultural shift in the approach of journalism
f) Fifth estate is a real move toward a dialogic construction of reality
g) Fifth Estate: where publics and counterpublics interact endlessly,
h) Fifth Estate serves to erode abusive hegemony and promotes pluralism.
i) Fifth estate is a model of mediated public discourse.
Assignment Provide examples of the following concepts regarding the fifth estate:
a) enables citizens to reconfigure access to alternative sources of information, people and other resources. b) differs from traditional media, particularly in opening up to greater social accountability c) known as Citizen journalism d) enhances the emergence of a participatory culture e) contrasts with older notions of passive media spectatorship. f) Ordinary citizens participate in the generation of truth and values g) offers the construction of a multiple reality. h) cultural shift in the approach of journalism i) move toward a dialogic construction of reality j) serves to erode abusive hegemony and k) promotes pluralism. l) model of mediated public discourse.

Task 1- Choose a Recipe
Choose a recipe, either a personal favorite or one that looks interesting, that you would like to modify. Choose one or more of the following modifications that you would like to make to the recipe:
Reduce calories
Replace saturated fat with monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fat
Reduce fat
Increase fiber
Replace simple carbohydrate with complex carbohydrate
Replace animal protein with plant protein
Increase protein
Or something else! Message me for approval. Task 2- Modify and Share
In the discussion forum you will provide us with the following:
A link to the recipe or copy/paste the recipe. (1 point)
Tell us what kind of modification you are making. (1 point)
Explain how you would modify the recipe. (1.5 points)
Provide us with a comparison of the nutrition information from the original recipe versus the modified recipe. (1.5 points)You only have to share the component that you are changing. For instance, if you are trying to decrease the total fat you would provide the total fat from the original recipe and the estimated total fat for the modified one. Example-
https://www.servingdumplings.com/recipes/baked-meatballs-with-orzo-in-roasted-pepper-sauce/Links to an external site.
I will be reducing the total amount of saturated fat for this Baked Meatball and Orzo recipe. I would modify first modify the recipe by switching the meat from ground beef to ground turkey. Next, I would use flaxseed instead of egg (flaxseed is a great egg alternative in cooking and baking!). Then, I would opt for nonfat mozzarella and low fat ricotta. The original recipe had approximately 75 grams of saturated fat for the entire dish (18.75 g/serving). With my modifications, the saturated fat would be reduced to 11 grams of saturated fat for the entire dish (2.75 g/serving)!

As we have learned more about the environmental impacts on your personal health

As we have learned more about the environmental impacts on your personal health this week, I think you will find the following video interesting. After watching post your thoughts on the following to the discussion board:
1. The video you watched. (3pts)
2. The places you have lived and what type of environmental issues you may have been exposed to. (3 pts)
3. Respond to two other student posts. (4 pts)
An Urgent Call to Protect the Worlds Third Pole
response 1 Brenda This TED Talk was a great example to spread climate change awareness. Our environment is slowly dying while most of our population does not pay attention to this or tries to be helpful in a way. Growing up I had the chance to live in California and Baja California, Mexico. Since both of these places are basically close to each other, the main environmental issue I have seen are fires. There have been many fires that have been up for days and sometimes even weeks. We might have the privilege to live near the beach, but these fires affect the few greens we have. This is why we have to be more cautious when we build bonfires and make sure they are fully off or for those who smoke, be more aware where you throw a used cigarette away.
response 2 kareema
The video talks about the third pole region which covers over 5 million square kilometers and stretches from Afghanistan in the west to China in the east. I am from a region that was in ancient times the cradle of the first human civilizations and was called Mesopotamia ، land between the two rivers, in reference to the two great rivers, the Tigris and the Euphrates. The Tigris River is the only source of drinking water for the city of Baghdad, which has a population of about 8 million. Until the year 1980, the ُTigris river water was of high purity and free of pollutants. The factories built on both sides of the river and the sewage treatment units were working efficiently before their waste was discharged into the river. Unfortunately, many sewage plants were disrupted as a result of the many wars Iraq fought, as well as the years of economic sanctions imposed on Iraq, resulting in 1.5 million cubic meters of polluted liquid waste being thrown into the river every day from factories, refineries, power plants, and hospitals. As a result of this situation, the water of the Tigris River was polluted with high levels of heavy metals, especially lead and cadmium, in addition to the biological contamination due to the presence of pathogens. The presence of these pollutants led to a clear rise in the rates of infection with typhoid, chickenpox, kidney failure, the spread of hemorrhagic fever and amoeba, and cases of dysentery, which are linked to the contaminated drinking water supply.

Discussion Question #3
Choose one case from the case studies we have read and post a behavior plan outline for that case based on the discussions in class. What behaviors are necessary to focus on first and how can you make changes to the antecedents and consequences to modify the behaviors?
Case Study: Carlos
Child Description: Carlos is a two and a half year old little boy who lives with his mother, father, and 5-year-old sister. He attends a local community preschool. Carlos is able to communicate using 2-4 word combinations, is toilet trained, and enjoys eating and listening to stories. Carlos is on a special diet due to multiple food allergies and he is on medication for chronic asthma and allergies. Carlos’ parents report that they have had a very difficult time getting his allergies and asthma under control and they think that when he has a flare up and is on multiple medications that he loses sleep and his challenging behaviors seem to increase. When his sister tries to use the same toys that Carlos is playing with, he will hit and pinch her until she returns the toys or plays with something else. He is constantly trying to get his parents to play with him and when they can’t he will hit them. Parents admit that they often “give in” to him because they don’t want him to continue hitting. At preschool, his teachers report that Carlos is very aggressive towards the other children and at times with the adults. He will hit, pinch, and sometimes bite. He is most likely to have challenging behaviors during activities where he has to share or turn take or when a peer takes a toy that he wants.
