Premise of assignment: historians kevin shillington and david northrup have different perspectives on “african history”.

Learning Goal: I’m working on a african studies question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
PREMISE OF ASSIGNMENT: Historians Kevin Shillington and David Northrup have different perspectives on “African History”. But they share the view that the discipline of history of which “African history to 1850” is a part is based on “strict rules of evidence and the principles of interpretation” (Shillington, p1). For his part, Northrup concedes that “the historical records” from which African History to 1850 has been written “impose their own constraints” (Northrup, p.x).
From the above premise, write a SIX-PAGE, double-spaced, Times Roman 12-point font, essay identifying FOUR historical records (or sources) that historians and other scholars have used to write African history, and discussing the interpretations (or conclusions) that these scholars have drawn from the sources you identified. Your discussion must highlight some of the constraints (or problems) that scholars of African history have had in using the records you identified to reach credible conclusions about the African past

What was the objective of the person who posted it?

Learning Goal: I’m working on a african studies discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
For this assignment, I would like for you to select a meme, tiktok, tweet, or other contemporary post that you might find on social media that directly discusses or references African American history. Analyze this material historically based on the questions and suggestions below:
What is the historical argument or thesis of the piece? What was the objective of the person who posted it?
What event, person, idea, or trend does this video discuss and how does that relate to the material we’ve covered in class?
Who is the author/creator of this? What do you know about them? Why might this information be significant to their argument or conclusion?
Who or what might the author be responding to? Why do you think they posted it? What kind of statement are they making?
What kind of evidence does it provide? Does it offer primary sources? Secondary sources? Documents? Visual evidence?
How is that evidence used in support of the argument/thesis?
Your analysis should be written in complete sentences and paragraphs. A title is optional, but always helpful and appreciated. You should have an introduction, an argument, and a conclusion. The analysis should be at least 500 words and please, no more than 2000.
